These days, it is not hard to find a lot of headphones in the market offering you a plethora of great features and that too at prices which are often too good to be true. However, the problem is that not all of them live up to their claims and you soon want to replace them with a new pair. But, if budget was the reason why you bought cheap headphones in the first place, can you afford to splash out on another pair? Instead of remaining stuck with headphones you would rather not own, you should probably buy a pair which delivers what it promises and is cheap too! The Skytronic 100.851 HP300PRO DJ Headphones fit the bill perfectly when this is what you are looking for.

These headphones can be really useful if you are a wannabe DJ or simply love to listen to quality music. The most amazing thing about this headphone is its price which is just a touch under $17! Yes, you can actually get a pro-type headphone for less than $20.

You can also look forward to the following features, if you buy a Skytronic 100.851 HP300PRO DJ Headphone:

54 mm drivers with neodymium magnets, which withstand high sound pressure levels to give you excellent bass and transparent highs.

The adjustable swivel mount for the ear-cups provide you maximum comfort no matter how long you keep the headphones on.

The adjustable padded headbands make for a comfortable listening experience too.

The connectors are gold plated, which means that they are rust and corrosion proof. So, unless you soak them in water, you can expect them to last long!

The single sided cable can be coiled and so, it does not create an unnecessary clutter. However, the coils are not strong enough to be pulling at the headphones and this is an added advantage.

At 3m the cable is also long enough for you to use with PC’s without audio ports in front. The coiled section of the cable starts about 30cms from the headphone body.

These headphones usually come in good quality blister packs and so, there is very little chance of damage due to mishandling.

You can use these headphones as a backup to your main headphone set if you are a DJ or a music maker. If your pro-set is costly, you may not want to spend a similar amount of money in getting a backup headphone meant for occasional use. It is here that you can make good use of this well made headphone, which, according to most users, delivers full and crisp sound reproduction. They also praised its sturdiness and ease of use.

Thus, if your expectations from a low-priced pair of headphones are not unrealistic, Skytronic 100.851 HP300PRO DJ Headphones will meet your requirements without burning a hole in your wallet. Happy listening!

The Around-Ear headphones aren't a let down in the sound quality department, but perhaps the most shocking thing about these headphones is the price...

Bose have a reputation for creating amazingly high quality sound equipment – and usually with a price tag that reflects this. The Around-Ear headphones aren’t a let down in the sound quality department, but perhaps the most shocking thing about these headphones is the price. It’s incredibly rare to get anything from Bose at the price they’re currently displayed at (at the moment, Amazon is selling them at just under £115), but to get such high quality headphones is astonishing.

The sound quality on the Bose headphones are perfect – deep, rumbling bass that will happily purr along to the low notes of songs and add a deep, rich layer to songs. High notes are tweeted well, and overall the sound quality is so crystal clear that you’re able to hear notes in the song that you simply never knew existed before.

The headphones themselves are extremely comfortable, Bose have developed them to be comfortable and easy to wear for very long periods of time (you’re unlikely to even really notice them there – they’re surprisingly light).

There are two small downsides to the Bose headphones though – the plastic used to connect the headphones together is somewhat flimsy, and there’s the constant fear that (if used out and about) they could easily break. While Bose will guarantee that, if it’s within warranty, they’ll replace the headphones in the eventuality they break – it’s still not something you want to risk. The second issue is the length of the cable – it’s massive. While it’s better that it’s too long than too short, it still means that there are miles and miles of cable tucked away in your pocket if you’re wearing the headphones on the move.

Overall – these are a terrific pair of headphones, the sound quality is superb, deep and rich and excellent value for money. While the less rigid build quality may make them better suited to wearing at home, or at a desk, rather than frequently wearing them on the move, it’s worth listening to the sound quality before opting for any others in the class. Astonishingly good.

Delivering products equipped with groundbreaking technological features is nothing new for Sony...

Delivering products equipped with groundbreaking technological features is nothing new for Sony. In fact, if you look at their consistent track record of bringing out products powered by never-seen before technology, it’s clear that this is quite often their speciality. And so you may expect a lot from the Sony MDR-NC500 digital noise canceling headphones too. After all, they claim to be the world’s first digital noise canceling headphones!

So, what is this technology all about and does it really make these headphones worth buying?

Headphones are meant to provide you a private listening experience. The ‘privacy’ is meant to work both ways so that:

Others cannot hear what song or music you are playing and

You cannot hear other sounds from your surroundings when you put on your headphones.

It is the second aspect which is definitely a more important consideration when you are selecting a pair of headphones. Ambient noise can lower the quality of music you are playing if it enters your ears even with the headphones on. The Sony MDR-NC500 digital noise canceling headphones have an artificial intelligence noise canceling system which claims to reduce up to ‘99% of the ambient noise at 160Hz.’

The MDR NC500’s are particularly useful if you travel frequently by air and most of your music gets drowned in the humming noise made by the plane’s engines. In fact, most frequent fliers who have used these headphones have vouched for its ability to help you listen to music over the drone of the jet engines, even if you are seated towards the back of the plane, where the engine noise is louder and more invasive (which makes them perfect for work too).

The Sony MDR-NC500 headphones have three different levels of pre-programmed noise cancellation. So, along with the airplane, you can also use the ‘bus’ and ‘office’ modes to reduce ambient noise, depending on where you are.

There is a downside to this though – sadly, you cannot use the headphones without the noise cancellation mechanism switched on. In a very serene environment, you may experience a sensation of pressure on your ears due to the noise cancellation working actively despite the lack of ambient noise. However, it is not a major problem, unless you listen to music for hours at a stretch.

These headphones have inbuilt lithium-ion batteries which can power them for 16 hours before you need to recharge. You can also use normal AA batteries to get a combined battery life of 28 hours and so these headphones are really suitable for use on long flights.

The price of the headphones is always an important consideration because you usually do not want to pay over the odds for an accessory (albeit an arguably necessary accessory). The Sony MDR-NC500 noise canceling headphones are listed at around $400 which makes them quite a pricey pair of headphones. If you want the best noise canceling headphones available though, you may have to pay a premium price.

German technology is synonymous with matchless excellence all over the world. And so, if it is German technology that’s behind a pair of headphones, you can be sure that they will not disappoint you! The Sennheiser HD280 Pro Closed DJ headphones are an epitome of German technological prowess and can be useful in your career as a DJ. These headphones are specifically designed for professional monitoring applications and are perhaps one of the best professional headphones currently available. If you want to find out whether these headphones are the ones you have always been looking for, keep reading.

The two most important things about these headphones are:

1. They have a closed back. Closed back headphones allow you to closely listen to what’s playing, even in an environment which is rather noisy. As a DJ, you may have to play in bustling clubs and other gigs where the decibel level is quite high. So, a closed back headphone allows you to listen to your music, over the din around you. This is absolutely necessary to monitor what music you are playing to the crowd.

2. They are circum-aural headphones. This means that they have ear pads which completely surround your ears and fit snugly on your head. You should understand that only circum-aural headphones can give you a quality of music reproduction that comes anywhere close to what you can get from a full range speaker set. Because you are using them for a professional purpose, it is important that you listen to the music created by you or others, without distortions or reduction in quality.

The combination of these two factors is what makes the Sennheiser HD280 Pro Closed DJ headphones, stand out prominently. Moreover the 32dB external sound attenuation makes for a perfect audio experience in the noisiest of environments.

These headphones are a classic combination of rugged yet stylish design features and high degree of sensitivity, which makes even the weak audio-outs on synthesizers roar to life. Boasting of a frequency response from 8Hz to 25 kHz, you have a winner on your hands (or head!). The collapsible ear pads are easy to fold and make the headphones really portable too.

So, what do real world users have to say about the sound reproduction on Sennheiser HD280 Pro Closed DJ headphones? Here is a brief look:

These headphones are meant for studio work. The bass is tight and fast, the midrange rich and the treble clear and precise.

Loud volumes or earsplitting volumes, this headphone can provide unmatched output at all volumes.

The sound is as good as what you record, so if it isn’t sounding right, check what you have created! In fact, using these headphones can reveal all about the source quality of the music.

Sennheiser HD280 Pro Closed DJ headphones can be yours for $80 from any of the major online retailers. If it’s pro headphones you are looking for, these are certainly worth your attention!

The sound quality is crisp and clear, but sadly lacks boom and bass. Even with the ‘bass boost’ feature on, you may not find the bass engaging enough...

There are hundreds of different headphones jostling for your attention by claiming to have ‘unique’ features you cannot find elsewhere. Unfortunately, these features are mostly far from being unique and are usually variations of a particular technical aspect. So, you have lots of headphones which reduce ambient noise, give you crystal clear sound, are good to look at and easy to carry. But why should you buy them, if they have nothing special to offer? If this is the question you are faced with, have a look at the Sennheiser RS 170 closed digital wireless headphones.

Sennheiser, as you may well know, is a reputed German manufacturer of electronic products. Their headphones rarely fail to impress, despite the stiff competition around. Although innovation may not exactly be what you relate German technology with, these Sennheiser headphones can be quite a pleasant surprise for any music lover.

This is because these headphones have a truly unique multi receiver transmission system, which allows upto four people to listen from the same source, which is pretty suave. These wireless headphones use RF technology for receiving signals from afar – they operate on a 2.4 GHz frequency, thus giving you digital radio signals free from any distortion.

These Sennheiser wireless headphones allow you to move from one room to the other without having to carry the source of your music along with you. And if you have two of these, both you and your partner can listen to your favorite tracks without jostling for the rights to wear the headphones. If that’s your thing.

The sound quality is crisp and clear, but sadly lacks boom and bass. Even with the ‘bass boost’ feature on, you may not find the bass engaging enough. However, you can use them while watching your favorite movies and still get to hear the finer sound effects. But still there are two problems you may face while using the Sennheiser RS 170 Closed Digital Wireless Headphones.

Though it is a closed back headphone, which should block ambient noise efficiently, you may find that while it does reduce the ambient noise, it does not eliminate it altogether. You also need to wear the headphones properly, so that the ear cups cover your ears completely, leaving no space for ambient noise to trickle in.

There is also a problem of echo, particularly when you are trying to watch TV, with these headphones on.

Other than this you may find that the Sennheiser RS 170 closed digital wireless headphones deliver what it promises, nearly. It’s important to mention that the surround sound is faux and only simulates a surround-type environment. A word for the wise, don’t keep too many expectations from this feature. The promised 260 feet range can work if you are not cutting off the signal with too many walls in between.

Overall, the headphones aren’t terrible but they are hardly likely to set the world on fire. It’s a bit of a disappointment from a company like Sennheiser, with their astonishing reputation for amazing sound equipment, but these headphones fall a bit flat. Not bad, just decidedly average.

The smart way to listen to music is to use a pair of good headphones. And when music is not just your passion but also your profession, you need the very best headphones you can lay your hands on! Thankfully, there are some professional headphones that offer exactly what you need, especially if you are a DJ. Read on to know more about one such product, the Sony MDR V500DJ headphone, and find out whether you should invest in a pair of these!

Any product, carrying the Sony brand name, raises expectations by quite a few notches and usually these don’t disappoint either. Can the same be said of the Sony MDR V500DJ headphones? Let’s find out.

First Impressions

The Sony MDR V500DJ headphones are professional looking and appear true to their name. These headphones are a part of Sony’s Studio Monitor line of products, which are made from high-end materials and incorporate advanced sound engineering in their build and design.

These are supra-aural headphones with a closed-back and this is what makes them fit for pro use. As a DJ, you need to monitor sounds in a noisy environment such as disc or a gig. These headphones allow only a small amount of ambient noise to enter your ears and so provide you a certain level of acoustic isolation. However, don’t be too expectant about this feature, because the isolation you get is mostly on the midrange and treble. Therefore, certain sounds, similar in frequency to the noise of trains or subways can still interrupt what you are hearing via the headphones.

The headphones are foldable and don’t look too bulky either, so you may find it easy to carry them with you to and from work. The swivel ear-cups allow you to easily listen with one ear while you are remixing. They are quite robust too, which is an important feature because in your hectic schedule, headphones may be subjected to really rough use.

Quick Specs

Here are the tech and dimensional specs of the Sony MDR V500DJ professional headphones:

Frequency response: 10 Hz-25 kHz

Cable length: 3m or 9.8 feet.

Weight: 225 g or 7.94 oz

Efficiency: 97 dB/V

Sound Check

This headphone can reproduce bass and midrange with fine linearity.

The PET diaphragm works well, to give you minimal distortion even at high volumes.

When a sound-check was done, the response curve was well balanced, but a little limited at both ends of the audio spectrum, which indicates a slightly less than ideal overall bandwidth for the product.

These headphones can be quite a bargain considering they sell for just around $50 at online retailers such as Amazon. Although the performance is not quite what you would expect from a professional headphone, you cannot hope to get better at this price! So, if you have always been looking for a pro headphone for less than $100, you need not look further than the Sony MDR V500DJ.

Do you want to listen to music the way it has been created? If you do, you must have the right accessories to reproduce music with. Headphones may be your pick, but they will probably never give you the same quality of music as a track actually can deliver. The bass, the boom, the treble and the mids, all are essential elements of any soundtrack and most headphones do not have the technology required to deliver an accurate reproduction. This is why products such as Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Studio High Definition Headphones exist, to simply blow you away with their sheer brilliance!

Simply put, these headphones bring a professional music-maker’s audio experience to your ears. And when a legend like Dr. Dre chooses to associate his name with a headphone brand, you can bet your last penny that it’s not just another audio accessory!

Dr. Dre is a multiple Grammy award winning music producer and he felt the need to be involved in the creation of a pair of headphones which can actually give you the power to hear music exactly as it is meant to be heard.

So, Dr. Dre in collaboration with Monster Cables, have made the Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Studio High Definition Headphones, to give you clear vocals, detailed highs and super low, deep bass.

These headphones also try to replicate the quietness required for a studio-type listening experience by incorporating a powerful ambient noise isolation technology. So, hearing the intricate variations in your favorite track is not that difficult if you use these headphones.

What’s more, these headphones work perfectly well with most of the other portable music devices you may have. So whether you own an iPhone, a Blackberry or an iPod you can easily plug these headphones into them for an unmatched listening experience. In fact these headphones come with an iSoniTalk headphone cable with integrated high-grade microphone and call-answer button.

Here is what else you can find with the Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Studio High Definition Headphones:

Advanced headphone cables with Quadripole 4 twisted pair construction to reduce signal loss and give you balanced sound and clarity.

A compact connector design to reduce excess strain on the headphones and the ports.

An integrated mute button which allows you to stop the music and listen to what’s going on around you, without having to take off the headphones completely.

Foldable design for easier portability.

A touring case which is strong enough to protect your headphones while you are traveling.

An ultra soft cleaning cloth with Aegis microbe shield to help you keep your headphones clean and the ear cups free of germs.

Scratch resistant gloss finish, which makes your headphones look like new even after prolonged use!

There are a whole host of headphones on the market, all offering something enticing to persuade you to buy them. But rarely does a pair of headphones give you a combination of features and affordable price along with a brand name that is synonymous with quality and trust all over the world. If you want one such pair of headphones, the Panasonic RP-DJ300E-SMs may be the ones with which your search will end.

The Panasonic RP-DJ300E-SM headphones are high quality DJ headphones which can give you an enhanced audio experience whether you are listening to music at home, at work or while on the move. Moreover, if you are a budding DJ and are creating your own mixes and recordings, these headphones can be a great asset to enhance your music experience.

They are made with high quality and light weight aluminum parts, which offer greater durability so you can carry them in your kitbag no matter where you are headed to, without worrying about how they will survive the travails of travel.

The design element is always one of the strongest aspects of Panasonic products and this headphone is no different. Once unpacked, this headphone looks cool and the ear pads sit on your ears quite comfortably. This is essential, because if you love music, you may be using the headphone for hours at a stretch, so unless the ear pads are soft and comfortable enough, you may experience pain and discomfort if you keep the headphones on for a long while. Not the case with the DJ 300 E’s.

A sound check on any headphone is its real trial by fire. Beautifully, the DJ300E’s aren’t going to let you down. These headphones feature a 10 Hz-20 kHz response and deliver deep bass and clear treble, two aspects essential for music of any type to sound good.

However, the actual unique benefits of these headphones lies elsewhere.

The first unique feature of these headphones is the swivel mechanism. The swivel mechanism allows you to adjust the way in which the ear-cups sit on your ears. Depending on how long you listen to music, or the size of your ears, this feature may be very helpful. Just to give your ears a bit of a rest, you can use the swivel the swivel mechanism to lift the ear pads upwards, once in a while.

The price of Panasonic RP-DJ300E-SM headphones is really attractive too. You will be amazed to know that it all sells for just under $20 on most major online retailers. Rarely will you find such a host of features at such an incredibly low price.

Single side monitoring, high powered neodymium magnets and a 2m long cord are some added benefits to the Panasonic RP-DJ300E-SM headphones. So in summary, if you’re after headphones that offer great performance with fantastic value for money, few other models in the market can dream of coming close to the RP-DJ300E-SM headphone.

Irrespective of whether music is your passion or profession, a good headphone always comes in handy. You will definitely agree that it is very difficult for most headphones to reproduce the music as the artist intends it to be heard. In fact, accurate reproduction is often not possible without full range speakers. However, full range speakers cannot give you the pleasure of listening to music without creating a din and neither do they come cheap. However, what if you can actually get a high-end head phone, that’s really cheap too? While it may not actually fill the boots of a set of quality speakers, you may end up loving it nonetheless. This is specifically why you need to look at the Behringer Hpx2000 high definition DJ headphones.

The name Hpx2000 hi-definition headphones has quite a nice ring to it. However, a catchy name is not all that it’s about! These headphones are good for you as a novice DJ or for leisurely listening, whichever is your need. You should understand one thing very clearly right from the outset that this is not one of the feature-packed pro headphones bought by experienced DJ’s.

Having said this, you will rarely find so many features in one headphone, particularly those costing less than $30. Yes, the biggest advantage of the HPX2000 is its price, which at just under $25 at most major online retailers is an irresistible bargain any way you look at it! And the following is what you get for the $25 you pay:

High definition bass, super-transparent highs and ultra-high dynamic range.

1/8” connector and ¼” adapter, which allows you to use this headphone with most mp3 players, laptops and PC’s.

Single-sided oxygen free copper wires which allow best possible conductivity.

Rotating and reversible ear-cups that are round shaped and so, sit nicely on your ears.

Ultra rugged headbands to withstand wear and tear associated with regular use.

And this is how most users have summed up the experience of using the Hpx2000 high definition headphones:

Since the Hpx2000 is not a closed back headphone, you can get very little sound isolation. Therefore, it is not really ideal for a bustling environment. But the advantage of not having a closed back is that you can get much better clarity even in a place with a lot of din and bustle.

The bass is on the weaker side, though the overall sound is good enough for a $25 headphone. The vocals may seem layered in echo once in a while, but the dynamic range more than makes up for that.

These headphones are really comfortable to wear and feel like you are not wearing any headphones at all! So, if you listen to music or play computer games for hours at a stretch, this is the headphone for you.

It is safe to say that products which have German technology inside them, rarely disappoint you and the Behringer Hpx2000 high definition DJ headphones is certainly not an exception to this rule.

Owning a good pair of headphones is necessary if you love music. Whether you want to listen to your favorite tracks at work or unwind to the tunes at home, headphones entertain you, without disturbing others. In addition, if you are in the music industry, a pair of professional headphones is a necessary item at work, so that you can listen closely to the music you have created. The Sony MDR V700DJ professional headphones have been a strong presence in this niche segment of headphones for a more than a while now.

Whether you are a professional DJ or are just embarking on a career path to musical glory, these headphones by Sony may be exactly what you need. Let’s start with the aesthetics and design elements of these headphones to find out what’s on offer.

These headphones are rugged yet stylish, as far as the looks are concerned. Since they are meant for use by pros, the makers have ensured that you don’t have to handle them with kid gloves! Therefore, you can easily toss them in your kit as you move from gig to gig, without worrying about them being damaged. Their fold-up construction makes them durable and portable.

Here are some of the other design features that you may find appealing:

The padded headsets are comfortable enough for long hours of use, without feeling too cushy.

The 10 feet long cord can be coiled, and so you don’t need to worry about excess cords leaving a tangled mess around your equipment.

Of course, the most important aspect of a headphone is its sound output and you should definitely expect a lot from a pair of pro headphones. Here is what Sony MDR V700DJ headphones offer in terms of sound reproduction:

These headphones almost replicate the tonal clarity and mix separation available from a full range speaker set and that is not something you can say for most of the other pro headphones around.

3000 Mw power handling for the most amazing performance at advanced output levels.

Pros who have used these headphones have praised the amazing lows and clear highs along with the true bass you can get from this pair of headphones. The mids are quite good too, as far as clarity and detail are concerned.

You may find the boom a bit overwhelming, but keep in mind that this is headphone for DJs who know how to tame the boom with the help of equalizers.

The oxygen free Cu, from which the cord has been constructed, allows for advanced conductivity.

These headphones can also be plugged in to whole host of devices, thanks to the ¼” and 1/8” adaptors. So, you can use them for leisurely activities such as gaming or listening to your MP3 player.

You can find these headphones at all major online retailers for prices starting from $90 onwards. If you are looking for a serious asset at work and state of the art personal entertainment at home or anywhere else for that matter, choosing the Sony MDR V700DJ headphones will probably serve you well.
